Our office hours are 8am-5pm Monday through Thursday and 8am-3pm Friday. We work with each family to accommodate your special needs. We make every effort to be on time and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. Occasionally a child requires extra time or immediate emergency care. These situations may cause a delay in our schedule, but we will make every effort to treat your child in a timely manner.
If you should need to reschedule your appointment, please contact our office 24 hours in advance so we may offer that time to another child awaiting treatment. Failure to keep a scheduled appointment without 24 hours' notice may result in an office charge plus a required pretreatment deposit for future appointments. Please note, should you need to reschedule your child for a sedation appointment, we require 48 hours advance notice.
Insurance and Billing
We participate with:
- Delta Dental
- Cigna Dental
We accept payment from most other insurance companies, our office does not participate with Medicaid or Child Health Plus programs. If you have Blue Shield of NENY or GHI dental insurance you will pay in full at the time of service and insurance will reimburse you.
*PLEASE NOTE* we will no longer be accepting new patients with Delta Care HMO or Child Health Plus insurance (as of July 1, 2015 we will no longer service Child Health Plus patients).
If we have received all of your insurance information on the day of the appointment, we will file the claim for you. If is important that you are familiar with your insurance benefits, as we will collect the estimated amount that your insurance is not expected to pay. By law, your insurance company is required to pay each claim within 30 days of receipt.
Please understand that we file dental insurance as a courtesy to our patients. We are not responsible for how your insurance company handles its claims or for what benefits they pay on a claim. We can only assist in estimating your portion of the cost of treatment. We at no time guarantee what your insurance will do with each claim.
No insurance company pays 100% of all procedures and the benefits are not determined by our office. Dental insurance is meant to aid in receiving dental care. Most dental plans pay between 50%-80% of the average total fee. Some plans may pay more and some plans may pay less. The percentage paid is usually determined by how much you or your employer has paid for coverage, or the type of contract your employer has set up with the insurance company.
As a courtesy to you, we do allow parents to send their children with a responsible adult to their appointments. However, co-pays are due at the time of treatment and it is the responsibility of the parent to provide this person with the estimated co-pay for the appointment. Failure to do so may result in our office having to reschedule your child's appointment.
You can pay for your office visits and any treatments by cash, check, credit or debit card at the time of treatment. For your convenience, you can also create an online account so you may pay any outstanding balances electronically. To discuss your payment options or insurance coverage, please call (518) 226-6010.
For your convenience, we are pleased to accept patient financing through CareCredit. For more information please call our office to speak with our Financial Coordinator.
Certified Therapy Dog
Our office is proud to announce the addition of an onsite Therapy Dog! Pippa, a 3 year old Goldendoodle will be on premises most days. She is available for petting, playing and comforting our patients and parents. Pippa is hypoallergenic and doesn't shed, she has been evaluated and certified as a therapy dog based on strict behavioral criteria. Look for her at your next visit!
In our office we use digital radiography which allows us to take x-rays using up to 90% less radiation than conventional film x-rays. Using this technology, we are able to take an x-ray of your child's mouth by using a small sensor which records the image of your child's teeth and sends it to a computer. The result is a highly detailed image of your child's mouth that can easily be enhanced to better diagnose dental concerns and determine the very best treatment for each case.
We are proud to say we are a paperless office. This means all x-rays and charting are made and recorded with the aid of the computer. This technology allows us to maintain your child's dental records electronically, and cuts down on the unnecessary paperwork used with traditional paper charting. Traditional paper charting is difficult to keep standardized from doctor to hygienist to assistant. Even handwriting differences and coding make the charts look different. The computer eliminates this problem by using consistent charting methods that are accurate and precise, making it easy to read your child's dental chart and see up-to-date information. Digital charting standardizes the charting process so it is clear, easy to understand, and enables us to provide the most accurate and precise care to our patients. When needed, this method also allows us to quickly and securely share information with your child's other health care providers.
Electronic Claim Processing
Our office utilizes electronis claims processing. This means that rather than sending your dental claims through the mail, they are sent electronically to your insurance company with the click of a button. By filing your claims electronically, information is submitted more efficiently and with fewer errors. This benefits our patients because the turnaround time on claims is faster and fewer claims are returned or denied. We are happy to submit your dental claims to your insurance company on your behalf.
For your convenience we accept payments online with Visa or MasterCard debit or credit cards.
